YUMMY: Food: Its a process, not processed

So i find that the easist way to be accountable for something is if other people know! So I have decided to blog my food adventures...particularly my raw food adventures, where I'm out to prove that you don't have to compromise taste for health! I am OBSESSESED with fresh young (organic) coconut water and now fresh coconuts in general. I have been making daily stops at wholefoods to buy 2 a day.  They cut them open for you so you get the water and the meat inside. The taste of fresh coconut meat is absolutely brillant! I noticed that I was becoming dehadryated fairly quickly fairly often and water wasn't replenishing like it used to. Thats where coconut water came in for the rescue! (I have already blogged about my favorite pro-biotic, ionic mineral, superfood infused young organic coconut water drink Wellness Tonics before!)  By far the best pure raw fresh young organic coconut water out on the market now is Harmless Harvest

For breakfast this morning I had like 3-4 oranges right when I got out of bed! The oranges aren't organic so I put my pendant on them to rearrange the bio-rhythm and bring it back to its natural balance making all of the good things inside the orange a whole lot easier for my body to accept, absorb and digest!

And last but most definitely not least, I was super stoked about my video and cookbooks from Annette Larkins... a 70 something raw foodist for most of her life. The woman looks better than some 20 & 30 somethings I know...she is absolutely adorable and her recipes in the video are simpe enough to actually do along with her!

Finally this blog was made possible thanks to Quadron's Simil Life! I used that blog on The Teenager Show's post about Jeff Koons. Writing this blog made me think about that blog and how much I love this song!

The YUMMY 2011 UMMMM YES PLEASE AWARDS

i know i let this blog go by the wasteside but in 2011 i had so much inspriation:

1. The my first born will come out singing this song ummmm yes please award goes to (insert drum roll) - - - JUST A BAND anything they create is an ummmm yes please, but i think i broke the spins on EXTRA
   
2. The thank you for saving me from this dullness of sitting in this cubicle as I pretended to work ummmm yes please award goes to WTF IS MIKE WEARING...because we all have wondered "what the ____" Mike during those post Juanita years.
   
3. The wake up everybody no more sleeping in bed ummmm yes please award goes to DR DELBERT BLAIR supreme teacher, waker-upper metaphysician. Know about this man the website needs an overhaul but the info and shop are beyond on point!
   
4. The f* yo couch, we aint drinking the kool aid ummmm yes please award is a tie between a country and its president, the leader of Bolivia PRESIDENT EVO MORALES impressed me (and the rest of the free thinking world) when he recognized that mother earth has rights and nature needs to be respected the LAW OF MOTHER EARTH was created, just the mere idea of a government proposing something like this gives hope and joy to all non brain washed individuals (Pres Obama take note) But we are not done, Bolivia further impressed me when they gave McDonald's the boot out of there country.  There were only 8 McD's to begin with over there and now there are NONE! KICK ROCKS MCDEATH
   
5. The really, that just happened ummmmm yes please award goes to OCCUPY WALL STREET movement.  They still locking people up in NY and now you don't even need a reason to get arrested. (Pres Obama i'm looking at you....u.s. govt gets baby side eye)
   
   
6. The excuse me you found me on the internet "mysteriously" and know who i am ummmm yes please award goes to well this one is kinda private....stay tuned however for further development...
7. The mama i made it, having crumpets and biscuits while blasting santigold, get on my level, you blog i write for vogue, george clooney genes *look hotter as i get older* im style's inspiration ummmmm yes please award goes to CHIOMA NNADI (she's pure awesomeness, love her)
   
8. The i skipped a meal and good looking on having one of these, its healthier than anything i was gonna eat today ummmm yes please award goes to WELLNESS TONICS raw live beverage check; young organic coconut water check; millions of plant based probiotics check; liquid ionic minerals check; superfoods check; YUMMY and good for my TUMMY check; especially if you take the *Yummy Detox (my FAV) which has among other things digestive enzymes!
   
   
9. The I actually can't believe I did that...let me find out im capable ummmm yes please award goes to PAPILLION INSTITUE OF ART(shameless plug...but still oh so true)

ARTE: Amber Robles-Gordon

Emerging Voice & Vision

Introspective:Art For Joy, Love and Life

Amber Robles-Gordon received some blunt criticism during her graduate studies when she was told she couldn’t seem to separate herself from her artwork. Robles-Gordon became introspective, and identified why she’s so entrenched in her art.

Community Voice Project is a collaboration with the Department of Anthropology in the College of Arts & Sciences and the University Library. American University’s School of Communication and College of Arts and Sciences.

 

Amber Robles-Gordon

Amber Robles-Gordon is a mixed media artist. Her preferred medium is collage and assemblage. She also works with pastels, acrylic, watercolors, photography and oil paint sticks. She then merges these mediums into to her collages.

Her work is representational of her experiences and the paradoxes within the female experience. She focuses on fusing found objects to convey her own personal memories, inspired by nature, womanhood and her belief in recycling energy and materials.

Robles-Gordon has over fifteen years of exhibiting and art educational experience. She completed her Masters of Fine Arts from Howard University in December 2010, where she has received annual awards and accolades for her artwork. She has exhibited in California, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, New York, Ohio, Spain and throughout the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.

Robles-Gordon has been commissioned by the Smithsonian Anacostia Museum and Center of African American History and other organizations to teach workshops about creating paper mosaics and collages. She was commissioned by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities in 2010 to create a mural for the Windows in to DC project at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Most recently, she has been granted an apprenticeship from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities, D.C. Creates Public Arts Program.

Julia Raynham’s work melds choreography, theatre, poetry, video, sound, performance and improv, in a distinctly experimental vein. After studying architecture and music, she trained extensively as a sangoma (link beeen the ancestral and human worlds, specialist of herbal medicine, counsel in matters of psychological disturbance in Zulu, Swazi, Xhosa and Ndebele communities of Southern Africa). An ex-member of key collectives on the South Africa scene (Honeymoon Suites; The Mothertongue Project) and a writer (We Tell Our Old Songs: San Music of Southern Africa, with Marlene Winberg, 2004; ilikemagazine), she is the founder of Resonance Bazaar, a multidisciplinary platform for the development of artistic partnerships. Among her most renowned works are: Return to Traveller (The Edge, Cape Town, 2009); 21st Century Animal (7th edition of Rencontres Chorégraphiques de l’Afrique et de l’Océan Indien, 2008); and A New Body Will Be Assembled...More Brilliant Than Before (Below:Video)

ARTE: Mary Sibande - Long Live The Dead Queen

South African artist Mary Sibande has done something amazing in her series Long Live The Dead Queen. We really love her installation/sculptures but what we love the most is how she takes over buildings in some nice and not so nice places with putting the “Dead Queen” up for the entire city to see.
